According the Law 720 of 2001 "By which the voluntary action of Colombian citizens is recognised, promoted and regulated", volunteering is defined as:
 
“The set of actions of general interest carried out by young people between the ages of 14 and 18 who exercise their community service action by virtue of a civil and voluntary relationship.”

Who are the volunteers of THE GAMES?
 
Young people who freely and responsibly, without receiving remuneration offer time, work and talent for the proper development of THE GAMES.

Principles of volunteer program of  THE GAMES
 
The volunteering program of THE GAMES is governed by the following principles:
 

• Freedom as a principle of action for both volunteers and recipients, who will act in a spirit of unity and cooperation.
• Participation as a democratic principle of direct and active intervention of citizens in common responsibilities, promoting the development of an associative tissue that articulates the community from the recognition of autonomy and pluralism.
• Solidarity as a principle of the common good that inspires actions in favor of individuals and groups, serving the general interest and not exclusively that of the members of the organization itself.
• The social commitment that guides a stable and rigorous action, seeking the effectiveness of its actions as a contribution to the goals of social interest.
• The autonomy with respect to the public and economic powers that will protect the critical and innovative capacity of the Volunteer program.
• Respect for the convictions and beliefs of people, fighting against the different forms of exclusion.
• In general, all those inspiring principles of a democratic, pluralistic, participative and supportive society. 

Purpose of volunteering for THE GAMES?
 
The volunteer program will have the following purposes:
 

• Contribute to the comprehensive development of people and communities through the promotion and enjoyment of sports practices.
• Promote, through selfless service, a generous and participatory citizen consciousness to articulate and strengthen the social fabric.
   

The volunteer program for the games is an expression of organized solidarity that implies commitment to the collective purposes of holding the best Central American and Caribbean  Beach Games, and witnessing this achievement to future generations.
 
Volunteering promotes in youth the values ​​of mutual help, cooperation, innovation, social learning, participation, love of the country and the sense of belonging to the region and nation. In addition, it encourages society to replicate these individual and collective actions becoming an example for everyone.
